Welcome to Travelx ("Travelx," "travelx.lk," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Travelx website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Platform").

By accessing, browsing, registering for, or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Platform.

1. About Travelx

Travelx is an online travel booking platform that allows users to search, compare, and reserve hotel accommodations and related travel services offered by third-party accommodation providers ("Accommodation Partners").

Travelx acts as an intermediary between users and Accommodation Partners and does not own, manage, or operate the hotels, resorts, guest houses, villas, or other accommodations listed on the Platform unless explicitly stated otherwise.

2. Eligibility

To use the Platform and make bookings, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.

  • Possess the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration and booking.

  • Use the Platform only for lawful purposes.

By making a reservation, you confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Account Registration

Certain features of the Platform may require account registration.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials.

  • Accept responsibility for all activities occurring under your account.

  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Travelx reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or violate these Terms.

4. Booking Services

4.1 Reservation Process

When you submit a booking request, Travelx transmits your reservation details to the selected Accommodation Partner.

A booking is considered confirmed only when:

  • Payment has been successfully processed (if applicable); and

  • A booking confirmation has been issued by Travelx or the Accommodation Partner.

4.2 Availability

All room availability, rates, promotions, and descriptions displayed on the Platform are supplied by Accommodation Partners and may change without prior notice.

Travelx does not guarantee the availability of any accommodation until confirmation is issued.

4.3 Accommodation Information

While we strive to ensure accuracy, Travelx does not warrant that descriptions, photographs, ratings, amenities, policies, or other accommodation information are always complete, current, or error-free.

Accommodation Partners remain solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings.

5. Pricing and Payments

5.1 Pricing

All prices displayed on the Platform are subject to availability and may change before booking confirmation.

Displayed prices may include:

  • Accommodation charges;

  • Applicable taxes;

  • Service fees;

  • Government-imposed levies.

Additional charges imposed by Accommodation Partners may apply at check-in or check-out.

5.2 Payments

Payments may be processed through third-party payment service providers.

By submitting payment information, you:

  • Confirm authorization to use the selected payment method;

  • Agree to pay all charges associated with your reservation;

  • Authorize Travelx and its payment partners to process the transaction.

Travelx does not store complete payment card information on its servers.

5.3 Currency Conversion

Where multiple currencies are displayed, conversion rates are provided for convenience only. Final charges may vary depending on your financial institution's exchange rates and fees.

6. Cancellation, Modification, and Refunds

6.1 Accommodation Policies

Cancellation and refund policies vary by Accommodation Partner and booking type.

The applicable cancellation policy will be displayed before booking confirmation.

6.2 Refund Processing

Where refunds are approved:

  • Refund timelines depend on the payment provider and financial institution.

  • Processing periods may vary between banks and countries.

  • TravelX is not responsible for delays caused by payment providers.

6.3 No-Show Reservations

Failure to check in according to the Accommodation Partner's policy may result in:

  • Full booking charges;

  • Partial refunds;

  • Complete forfeiture of payments.

7. User Responsibilities

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for unlawful purposes;

  • Submit false or misleading information;

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts;

  • Interfere with Platform operations;

  • Upload malicious software, viruses, or harmful code;

  • Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or harvest data from the Platform.

Users are responsible for complying with accommodation rules, local laws, and travel requirements.

8. Accommodation Partner Responsibilities

Accommodation Partners are independently responsible for:

  • Property operations;

  • Room quality and cleanliness;

  • Safety and security standards;

  • Guest services;

  • Check-in and check-out procedures;

  • Compliance with local laws and regulations.

Any disputes relating to accommodation services should first be directed to the relevant Accommodation Partner.

9. Travel Requirements

Users are solely responsible for:

  • Obtaining valid identification documents;

  • Complying with visa requirements;

  • Meeting health and vaccination requirements;

  • Following local travel regulations.

Travelx is not responsible for losses resulting from a user's failure to meet travel requirements.

10. Reviews and User Content

Users may submit reviews, ratings, photographs, comments, and feedback.

By submitting content, you grant Travelx a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

  • Use;

  • Display;

  • Reproduce;

  • Modify;

  • Publish;

  • Distribute

such content in connection with operating and promoting the Platform.

You must not submit content that is:

  • False;

  • Defamatory;

  • Offensive;

  • Illegal;

  • Infringing upon third-party rights.

Travelx reserves the right to remove content at its sole discretion.

11. Intellectual Property

All Platform content, including but not limited to:

  • Logos;

  • Branding;

  • Software;

  • Databases;

  • Text;

  • Graphics;

  • Website design;

  • Mobile application content;

is owned by or licensed to Travelx and protected under applicable intellectual property laws.

No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used without prior written consent.

12. Third-Party Services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, payment providers, mapping services, or external platforms.

Travelx does not control and is not responsible for:

  • Third-party content;

  • Third-party privacy practices;

  • Third-party services;

  • External website availability.

Use of third-party services is at your own risk.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Travelx shall not be liable for:

  • Accommodation quality issues;

  • Overbookings;

  • Property closures;

  • Service interruptions;

  • Travel delays;

  • Lost profits;

  • Loss of data;

  • Indirect or consequential damages.

Travelx's total liability arising from any booking or claim shall not exceed the amount paid by the user for the relevant reservation.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Travelx, its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, and service providers from any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Platform;

  • Your violation of these Terms;

  • Your violation of any applicable law;

  • Your infringement of third-party rights.

15. Force Majeure

Travelx shall not be liable for delays, interruptions, or failures resulting from events beyond reasonable control, including:

  • Natural disasters;

  • Floods;

  • Pandemics;

  • Government actions;

  • Civil unrest;

  • Labor disputes;

  • Telecommunications failures;

  • Cybersecurity incidents.

16. Suspension and Termination

Travelx may suspend or terminate access to the Platform at any time if:

  • These Terms are violated;

  • Fraudulent activity is suspected;

  • Legal obligations require such action;

  • Platform security is threatened.

17. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Statement, which explain how personal information is collected, processed, stored, and protected.

18. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time.

Changes become effective upon publication on the Platform.

Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Sri Lanka.
